In Indian culture, there are certain words and expressions whose meanings have been altered, fragmented, or misunderstood over time, creating confusion in society. One such expression is “Pati Parmeshwar” — “the husband as Parmeshwar (the Divine)”. Today, social media frequently raises questions such as: If a husband is considered Parmeshwar, then why did some women in our history and scriptures suffer? If Shiva could not save Sati, Rama could not protect Sita from every hardship, and the Pandavas could not prevent Draupadi’s humiliation, why is a husband called Parmeshwar? At first glance, these questions may appear logical.
